How Post Oak Got Listed First by Google's AI in One Week

On October 16, 2026, searching from Houston, we asked Google AI Mode “Is there a financial advisor in Houston who works with widows?” It listed Post Oak Private Wealth Advisors first, with the widows page we built as its first source. That page went live four days earlier.

It was one of four Houston questions where Google AI Mode listed Post Oak first that day. Also on October 16, two pages we built were first on Google for searches where no Post Oak page had been in the top ten on October 12, and ChatGPT named the firm first for a Houston widow.

Where Post Oak started

Post Oak is a Houston wealth management firm led by Robert M. Wyrick, Jr., its Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer. On Google it was already in good shape: searched from Houston on October 12, it was first in Google's map results for “wealth management houston”.

AI answers were the gap. Asked who to hire in Houston, ChatGPT named other firms. The firm had written articles on widowhood, inheritances, and retirement, but they were scattered, and no page brought a topic together. The homepage carried no structured data.

What we built

On October 12, four guide pages went live: for widows, for people after an inheritance, for retirement planning in Houston, and for choosing a wealth manager. Each gathers the firm's own articles on its topic, and each went live after Robert approved it.

On October 13, valid structured data went live for the firm, Robert, its services, and its contact page. We also fixed broken links and submitted every page to Bing. On October 14, we fixed typos and titles and started counting calls. On October 15, an investment management page went live.

October 13: on Google and in ChatGPT

All four guide pages were on Google within a day, according to Google Search Console. The same day, we asked ChatGPT a widow's question about finding a financial advisor in Houston. It named Post Oak first and linked the widows page we built.

October 16: first on Google, in ChatGPT, and in Google AI Mode

In Google searches from Houston, the widows page was first for “financial advisor for widows houston”, with Google's AI Overview naming the firm. The inheritance page was first for “financial advisor after inheritance houston”. Four days earlier, neither search had a Post Oak page in the top ten.

We asked ChatGPT a widow's full question: “My husband just passed away and I don't know where to start with our finances. Is there a financial advisor in Houston who works with widows?” It named Post Oak first of three Houston firms and linked the widows page again.

Besides the widows question, Google AI Mode listed Post Oak first for these three:

• “Who manages investments for retirees in Houston with attention to downside risk and taxes?”, citing the investment management page we built the day before.
• “Who can help with retirement distribution planning in Houston?”, with Post Oak pages as all three of its top sources.
• “I'm retiring in Houston in two years with a 401(k) and a pension. Which advisors specialize in retirement income planning?”, citing the retirement planning page we built.

It also named or cited the firm for four more Houston questions, from women in transition to energy-industry retirees.

What it shows

The expertise was already in Post Oak's articles. Once each situation had its own page, Google ranked two of those pages first within four days, and ChatGPT and Google AI Mode cited them when they put the firm first.
